Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.
We should beware those who are men of blood, men with a track record of political gangsterism, who play the tough guy and operate with ruthlessness and mendacity, sleek charm and clever deceitfulness.
Like Stalin, Putin removes the opposition and exudes confidence. He exploits weakness and works iniquity with his steely grip of power and authority. He rules with fear and brooks no rivalry.
It seems clear that Putin sees Ukraine as part and parcel of mother Russia. Kiev is a precious jewel in the crown, as it is an ancient city, older than Moscow. Putin tried to take it in his earlier campaign.
Putin does not like to use the reverse gear, to concede territory. Like Stalin he is prepared to send many troops to their death in pursuit of his Russian dreams of a greater Motherland. He wants more pieces of Ukraine and not peace as the West wants it.
Does Putin hold some key cards of kompromat? What does Putin have up his sleeve? Is Putin a grandmaster of political and military chess?
Conflict and calamity will be coming. European states are aware of the writing on the wall.
I pray for the Prince of Peace to deal with this man of blood.
