Marina Ovsyannikova, heroic and valiant opponent of Putin's War

Support, tributes, praise and prayers are being widely broadcast for the brave journalist Marina Ovsyannikova, who protested by showing a placard against the war in Ukraine during a television broadcast in Russia. This act of courage in the face of fake news and suppression of the truth in the Russian media is laudable. It is hoped it will inspire others make a stand against the Putin's war and lies. Many like Marina wish to "stop all this madness", to end the war which is denied. The Russian media still refers to the invasion and the war as a "special military operation".

Marina has been fined 30,000 roubles and interrogated for 14 hours. There are concerns for her safety.

Since the war in Ukraine, journalists have resigned from Russian TV channels. Independent channels have been forced to close down.
