Boris Begone

Last night's by-election results  at Bradford, West Yorkshire, and in Tiverton and Honiton, Devon, clearly spoke loudly against this Conservative Government led by Boris Johnson. The Devon seat was one of safest in the country having had a majority of over 24,000. The loss was the largest swing (29.9%) in any UK election, and never before was this seat out of Conservative control. It is therefore a devastating defeat. Many see it as a powerful protest vote against Boris Johnson's poor leadership and lack of integrity.

There seems to a be clear message in these by-elections that it is time for Boris to go and that he is no longer an asset but a liability. He is a Prime Minister in terminal decline, surviving and clinging on, never willing to step aside. The resignation of Oliver Dowden, the Conservative party chairman, is a significant nail in the coffin. Boris seems fatally wounded but manages to hang on in the face of so much opposition and national unpopularity. He has been been weighed in the balances and found wanting by public opinion, and the writing is on the wall.  Boris must go is being said loud and clear. Boris begone!
