Little Sampford Church, Essex

Yesterday afternoon I passed Little Sampford church and decided to stop the car, take some photographs and look inside the church.  The weather was warm and sunny.  The light was excellent. I am so glad that I stopped at this lovely peaceful church.

Saint Francis can be seen in the stained glass window.

I really love the tower and small spire at St Mary's Church, Little Sampford. So beautiful!

Painted by Edward Bawden, in the current exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, it was not identified as Little Sampford, but your photo from the south side confirms it. Thanks. Quite a grand church for a very small village.
